Hummingbird and Flower

Once you learn what a hummingbird sounds like, you'll usually hear them before you see them. In mid to late spring I like to sit in the back yard and watch these tiny jewels joust with each other for rights to a favorite flower. What they lack in size they make up for in courage and some times aggression. I've had them swoop down and nearly smack right into my head when I get too close to their favorite feeding sites.
